Barry Air and Incredible Thoughts

Well, it's been a while since my last post, but a lot has changed! I got a new job, which is exciting, anxiety-provoking, challenging, and requires adjustment. Now that I'm mostly adjusted to the new changes in my life, let's get back to what really matters, reviewing different marijuana strains, she said sarcastically.  This next strain is one that I tried with SO, while we went out on the town for some well-deserved quality time. It's called Barry Air and he purchased two pre-rolled joints from our regular dispensary and damn, that shit smacks.  Barry Air is a Hybrid strain, an excellent combination of Girl Scout Cookies and Blue Dream. It consists of 0.34% THC, 24.34% THCA, 0.11% CBD, and 0% CBDA. There isn't much about this strain other than other reviews. But other reviewers have described the following experiences: stimulating mind, boost in creativity, feeling pain free and blissful, and overall relaxation. It had a fruity scent and was smooth considering we...

Highdeas (2/22, ft. Mint Cake)

After reading my previous post, and looking at my bank account, I decided that reviews may occur more seldom for the time being, or at least until I get my tax return. I want to start writing a new kind of post I'm going call "Highdeas." Highdeas are going to be different than babblings of a stoner, just because even one's high self is able to recognize complete nonsense.  I decided to experiment with my high thoughts and to see what concepts my high would arrive at. *Reminder here to remember to proofread this tomorrow* I thought a documentary would be a good experimental group, priming my consciousness for an interesting topic and hoping to really learn something.  -Tangent: Learning and memorizing are two different things. Memorizing is holding that information, action-less, like it's a simple idea. Learning, on the other hand, is using that information to change something, create something, or cause something to happen. For example, you either hold your hammer...

Mint Cake and My Hot Take

Mint Cake, what can I say, what a beaut.  This was the first time I had tried this strain, and this has been one of the best weed decisions I've made. Mint Cake is a a hybrid strain, according to 253farmacy, between Lemon Pound Cake 75 and Kush Mints. It was comprised of 0.59% THC, 22.59% THCA, 0% CBD, and 0.09% CBDA and smoked out of a 1 percolator bong, around 2 puffs worth.  Leafy reported that this strain results in a relaxed, euphoric, and tingly feeling, which to me, sounds like a the trifecta of orgasms. I also felt the tingly sensation, specifically in my slightly shaking hands, but also a slight tingle like someone hitting your funny bone. You feel jittery towards the top of your high, which could also feel like tingling. 253farmacy noted that it results in increase focus and functionality, hence why I would choose to write this post now, mid-high. Lucky you, productive stoners! Apparently Leafly also reported that it helps with inflammation, pain, and arthritis...

Alien Huckleberry, Parents, and Politics

Hello! Let's talk about Alien Huckleberry.      I've tried this strain before and I had mixed feelings about it. But first, some information. Alien Huckleberry is a crossbreed of Alien Rock Candy and Huckleberry Kush. It's an Indica and it sure lives up to the title. It's comprised of 0.99% THC, 23.95% THCA, 0% CBD, and 0% CBDA. It's said to help with relaxation, sleep, pain relief, and mood elevation.      It has a very woodsy and pungent scent, definitely not the strain to bring to a family holiday if you know what I mean. Despite my apartment already smelling like weed consistently, or so I think, I can't tell anymore, this strain heightens that scent. This frosty flower ground looks and feels like kinetic sand, it sticks together and falls apart like a crumbling cookie. It's perfect for packing bowls. I smoked this out of my 1 percolator bong with a MouthPeace filter.      My first couple times trying this strain, I wasn't really a...

Honey Bee and Relationships

Hello! Next up is Honey Bee.     This strain is a sativa-dominant hybrid strain. I tried this strain for the first time last night. It was a self-care night so que the bubble-bath, facemask, and speaker. It was comprised on 0.31% THC, 21.36% THCA, 0% CBD, and 0% CBDA. Being a sativa-dominant, it would affect my mind more intensely than my body. I always try to have a notebook nearby when I smoke sativas because of the funny and rarely philosophical thoughts that need recording.      There isn't much reported for this strain, but I found that it helps with fatigue, uplifts your mood, with a slight body sensation, lightly orgasmic. When I opened the container, the scent of sweetness and earth filled my nostrils. Taking a deep breath, I could smell the fruity aroma. Ground, it looks like a mosaic with all the different shades of green.      I smoked it out of my 1 percolator bong with a freshly cleaned bowl. This strain packed so well, it wasn'...

Smoking, Science, and Spirituality

Hello!      Since I've been puffing pot, I've had instances where my high self is overwhelmed with curiosity. When you're high, your thoughts seem very insightful and deep, even though they rarely are insightful and deep. You wonder about things in the world and your brain makes some connections that feel new and intriguing!     One of these instances had an unexpected impact on me. The first instance of this new hobby came in the Summer of 2019. My partner, SO, and I were trying out a trial run at living together. He had a Summer lease in his school-owned apartment and I had my apartment near my university, but worked in the town he was located so I stayed with him. We had been dating an hour away for the majority of our relationship and were, for a lack of a better term, testing our relationship and compatibility. We decided to use the Summer as a trial run for living together. With both of us taking Summer classes and working, our Summer was pretty busy, but ...

Luckleberries #59 and Surviving Heartbreak

Hello! On to our next strain, Luckleberries #59.     Luckleberries #59  is a crossbreed of Louis XIII and Huckleberry Kush, meaning its a Hybrid strain (mix of a Sativa and an Indica strain), but it's Indica dominant. It was comprised of 0.47% THC, 25.43% THCA, 0% CBD, and 0% CBDA. Although there is reportedly 0% of CBD in this strain, it is reported to help with pain relief, relaxation, and is an "anti-spasmodic" strain, meaning it helps with tremors/shaky hands.      There isn't an abundance of information about this strain, other than reviews from other stoners. So, I can't confirm any information, but I can recommend!       I smoked it out of my 1 percolator bong with a MouthPeace filter. Each nug has a mild earthy scent and a nice frosty coat. I found that this strain doesn't grind as easily as some other strains, but that might be due to the harvest or my grinder. I was smoking this strain while hanging out with my bestfr...

Pre '98 Bubba Kush and Self-Acceptance

Hello! Starting off, we have Pre '98 Bubba Kush.  *A lot of my information about general reported qualities comes from this  website *     I tried this strain before and it's a classic. Pre '98 Bubba Kush is an Indica, meaning it's more of a body high. It was comprised of 0.27% THC, 10.95% THCA, 0.28% CBD, and 13.94% CBDA. For those who are kind of new to the marijuana world, THC has the high properties to it, and CBD has the physical relaxation/pain relieving properties.  The reported qualities that this strain has are as follows, according to Leafly: consistent heavy body sensation, pain relief, pungent, musky scent, and coffee-like taste. Feelings: Relaxed, Happy, Sleeping, Euphoric, and Hungry Helps with: Pain, Stress, Insomnia, Anxiety, and Depression Negatives: Dry Mouth, Dry eyes, Dizzy, Headaches, Paranoia     We smoked it out of a 4 percolator bong with a MouthPeace filter, while hotboxing SO's office. He wanted to show...

My First Time

Hello!  A continuation of my last/first post...Man this edible is good, God Bless Trevor Noah. I think the first content post of this blog should be my first time dancing with the devil's lettuce.       For the purpose of retaining some form of anonymity, I'll be referencing my school as SSU (some state university) and my partner's school as SPU (some private university).  It was Mid-January 2019, I was at my partner's house, in his school apartment. It was an hour drive to and from our universities and we usually saw each other on the weekends, and maybe 1 day in the week if we both particularly needed a break from our schools.      At the time I was living with 3 other women and since we were all in the same classes, lived together, and in grad school you're always studying together, so you're bound to get sick of each other. At this particular time that Winter I was struggling with seasonal depressive symptoms mixed with my regu...

Obligatory Introductory Post

Hello!  Welcome to I Want What She's Smoking, the cannabis review blog from a stoner's mind. Currently, I'm waiting for a sativa edible to sink in, so this is the perfect time to get into the zone regarding actually starting the blog that I promised myself I would make.     This blog purports to review various cannabis products, specifically flower, from the state of someone who is experiencing the effects of the product, a cannabis review from the mind of a stoner; what thoughts, feelings, and physical experiences that come with each product. Now, I'm just one individual and the way some cannabis products effect my psychological and physical state are somewhat unique and may not adequately portray others' experiences, so I encourage any reader to comment their experiences as to obtain the complete picture of a cannabis product.      I plan to organize my posts based on the following formula: Basic product information Qualities Consumption Context Experienc...
